I tend to prefer my Mobile Suits in a more Flat finish, but I've found that Specular 25, Highlight 100 is a pretty decent metallic finish. Specular (basically meaning "mirror-like") is essentially gloss coating, making it highly reflective, while Highlight seems to be affect how metallic the color is. The other two values are Specular and Highlight. Pressing X again will apply your changes. The lower the saturation, the closer to grey the color is. While this color picker is open, L1 and R1 control your saturation. Pressing X while having one of the color bars selected will open an in-game color picker, which will set the values for you and allow you to fine tune the colors without just blindly adjusting an individual bar. If you aren't working from a source, a website such as this one is useful, especially since it also gives you colors that work well with the selected color, which might be helpful for creating custom color schemes. Applying these directly on the Mobile Suit may not look quite right and could require some finetuning. Opening an image in image editing software (I use ) or an color picker website, such as this one, and using the color selection tool to get the values I can drop into the converter. To get around this, if I know the RGB values (or the hex code) of a color I want, I run it through the converter I found here Set the "number of digits" box to three for simplicity's sake.įor finding colors, I typically work off of reference images. However, it uses a percentage based scale (0-100) while most other resources I could find use a 0-255 scale. GBO2 uses an RGB-based system for color selection.
